In Matthew 18:20 the Lord Jesus said that "where two or three are gathered together, there I am in their midst." This is the principle of companion groups. As we meet together to read the Bible, pray, sing, and fellowship, we sense two things: First, that the Lord Jesus is indeed in our midst. Second, that we are growing in life unto maturity. Companion groups are meeting on campus in twos, threes, and fours every day at varied times. What do you have to do join a group? Just come to any of our meetings and meet some new faces.
During the Fall and Spring semesters, on Saturdays at 6:00 pm we meet for dinner and fellowship. Dinner ends at 6:45 and is followed by singing, praising, and a message followed by testimonies. All are welcome; all can participate.
Many Christian families in the Atlanta area have opened their homes to us for evening dinners and fellowship. Whether you need a home-cooked meal or fellowship from spiritual "fathers" or "mothers", these homes are open to you. Nearly every night of the week one or more "home meetings" are taking place. Singing, praising, praying, and fellowship abound.
The purpose of these conferences is to enjoy Christ in His Word in an environment that is free from busy schedules, anxieties of school, and other distractions. Often the Lord would take His disciples to a deserted place or a mountaintop far away from the crowds in order to unveil something deep and precious regarding Gods eternal purpose (e.g. Matt. 17:1). At the conferences, we give the Lord a whole weekend to speak a personal and life-giving word to each one of us.
